2013 Chevrolet Sonic LTZ Review: 1.4 Liters of Turbo Powered Fun!

The Chevy Sonic LTZ is Chevrolets latest attempt at taming the largely European-dominated B segment; the Supermini. This car has the good looks, the technology, and the spunky turbo engine to do the job! The tiny 1.4 liter engine is helped along by the aforementioned turbo, giving it enough sportiness to make it incredibly entertaining to drive. The LTZ trim includes all the bells and whistles, with an Iphone 5 port built in directly to the dash for your phone, music, and navigation needs. The 7" touch-screen display is clear even in direct sunlight, and it incorporates air conditioning, XM radio, sound settings and more, right at your fingertips.

Elon Musk of Tesla Motors Rakes in 1.1 Billion In One Day

Elon Musk has been hitting the ball outta the park in regards to his success with his company, Tesla Motors. As of late, the stock for Tesla has risen to over two hundred and fifty per share, and that number rises every day. Not only is his own company flourishing, but the company SolarCity Corp. (who he is the largest shareholder of) is doing just as well in response to the incredible optimism that surrounds his plans to build one of the largest battery manufacturing plants on the face of the Earth. This is truly groundbreaking stuff, as electric cars are quickly building steam in the automotive industry. I would guess that there will be an exponentially growing number of not only Tesla's roaming around, but fully electric cars in general. BMW among others have very recently jumped on the electric car bandwagon, hoping to take advantage of the go-green hype everyone is going on about. These are all good things, especially seeing that Tesla is an American car company, which brings reputability and massive amounts of cash into our floundering economy. Congratulations to you, sir! Keep up the fantastic work!

OH THE HUMANITY!!!: 42' Sinkhole Under 'Vette Museum

Bowling Green, Kentucky. Now the site for the most recent sinkhole to strike our unsuspecting planet. This time it sprang up from directly underneath eight super-rare Corvettes lying dormant in their air conditioned homes. It's sad really, because if you own a pristine Corvette and you want to hand it over to someone who you know will absolutely take care of it, the first place that comes to mind for many is the National Corvette Museum. The list of Vettes is as follows: Rest In Pieces.

1) 2009 ZR1 "Blue Devil"

2) 2009 Corvette #1.5 Million

3) 2001 Mallet Hammer

4) 1993 ZR-1 Spyder

5) 1992 Corvette #1 Million

6) 1984 PPG Pace Car
(this is actually the 1986 PPG Pace Car)

7) 1962 Black Corvette

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Leaked Images

Oh Lord, I cannot wait to see this out-of-the-box-race car face to face. Most of the time, when a company releases pictures of their newest addition to the family, they never seem to look as good as they do in person. The same can be said of certain other industry pictures, but that's not an appropriate topic of discussion. That being said, I HAVE seen the 2014 Stingray Corvette in person, and it is good. Very good, in fact. Each and every dip, line, and curve in the body have been engineered to plant it to the ground at high speed.

All New 2015 Subaru WRX

The Subaru WRX is one of the best drivers cars on the face of the earth, largely due to its legendary All Wheel Drive system along with its turbocharged flat four, producing 268 horses and 258 pound-feet of torque. While these figures aren't all that impressive at first glance, once you drive the car in its natural habitat, you will quickly learn that it has plenty of power for the job required. The most recent incarnation of the venerable WRX platform has me confused, however, as it looks strikingly similar to the not-so-fun-to-drive-or-look-at Subaru Legacy. This is confusing to me not because Subaru's shouldn't look similar to one another, but because of what Subaru SAID the car would look like. And this it was not. Perhaps my expectations were a little higher than most as I've seen first hand what could have been. You can see for yourself after the jump and draw your own conclusions. Has Subaru successfully filled the shoes of its most popular model to date? Or have they created an abomination that calls itself a WRX? Let us know what you think in the comments below.  You decide while I cry in the corner because I can't afford it anyway. Check out the concept model after the jump. Here's a link to the actual 2015 WRX gallery.

Disclaimer: Yes, I know the 2015 WRX is considered an all new model, separate from the Impreza, I just really don't like it.

Police Testing Mobile GPS Launcher to Reduce Chases

Big Brother's reach is growing exponentially with the invention of this handy-dandy bad-guy-getter. What it is is exactly as simple as you could imagine. It's a small cylinder equipped with a GPS tracking device that launches from behind the grille of the squad car and reports back to HQ every 4-5 seconds to make absolutely sure that whoever they are tracking doesn't get away. Why hasn't something like this ever been invented and marketed to the Police before? Because we USED to live in a time where privacy and indiscretion were of the utmost importance. Nowadays, we can't even go outside without getting a picture or video taken of us, who cares if the cops can tag ANYONE'S CAR THEY WANT AT ANY GIVEN TIME. No big deal, right? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, and have a great day.

Callaway to build Corvette Shooting Brake: Callaway AeroWagon

Shhh. Can you hear it? It's the sound of my heart racing as I realize I have just added another car to my eclectic dream garage. Yes folks, what we have here is what Callaway had envisioned back in March of this year, and apparently they found enough support for them to go through with their plans! Personally, I feel it bears a striking resemblance to the Ferrari FF, which is an ugly car, but Callaway incorporated the angular design Chevy did so well, making this one mean looking machine. I'm curious to know how this $15,000 add-on will affect the handling characteristics of a car that Chevy worked so hard to perfect. It truly is the best Corvette to be released from the golden bowtie, and it would be a shame if this upgrade negatively impacted the way it drove. However, even if it did happen to make it drive slightly worse, I'm sure there are those who simply do not care. I just so happen to be one of them, because this thing is GORGEOUS.

What are your thoughts? Is this an abomination that needs to be killed with fire? Or is this something you would be more than proud to own? Let us know what you think in the comments below and don't forget to check us out on Facebook.

2015 Nissan Titan Gets Cummin's Diesel as Option???

Nissan has been slowly but surely pushing its way into the lightweight truck market for quite some time now, and they've finally made the jump to offering a diesel mill as an option! This is like a teen getting braces; they are so close to being a full fledged adult, we can barely tell they had nothing but itty bitty Frontiers ten years ago! My, they certainly grow up fast. The 5.0L diesel mill that was SUPPOSED to go into the 2014 Ram has 300 horses, but 420 ft lbs of torque. That's diesel for ya. Apparently, Dodge didn't think that it achieved a high enough average mpg for them, so they opted to use a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel instead.

Interestingly enough, this is the first time a Cummins sourced engine has been used in anything other than a Dodge Ram. I don't know for sure how much that will assist in the marketability of the new Titan, but I would assume it would help tremendously.

What are your thoughts? Should Cummins stick with Dodge? Does it matter? Let us know what you think in the comments below, and don't forget to "like" and share on Facebook

Next Nismo GT-R to Hit 60 MPH in 2 Seconds???

How can you make one of the world's fastest and most affordable supercars better? Increase HP and decrease weight. That's the only way I can imagine the guys over at Nismo could make this land rocket faster than the legendary Bugatti Veyron over short sprints. If you really stop to think about how fast 0-60 in 2 seconds is, consider this: the LeMans race cars from the sixties and seventies went from 0-60 in about 2.5 seconds. And these are purpose built race cars with one goal in mind. To go fast, real fast. Hopefully the claims made by the unknown source from the Goodwood Festival of Speed wasn't talking out his rectum, because this would certainly solidify my goal of owning a GT-R sometime in the nearish future.

Saleen is Back! With 700HP and a Supercharger.

Steve Saleen has been out of the loop for a while before the latest Saleen Mustang was announced last week. Apparently, the old codger decided to come out of retirement to release the baddest Mustang to date! Well, "baddest", may certainly be an appropriate adjective for some, others may just look at the car and cringe. Personally, I think it's great. There simply aren't enough cars on the road that exude this kind of automotive enthusiasm anymore. What could possibly be more enthusiastic than a bright orange drop-top, with a supercharged 5.7L V8? (Other than the Lamborghini Veneno

Cadillac CTS-V Wagon Sales are Seriously Lacking...

The Cadillac CTS-V wagon has been sitting in my dream garage since the day it was announced, way back in late 2009. Why the American public hasn't embraced the rwd, supercharged monster that is the CTS-V is way beyond me. Personally, I would think that it is the ultimate alternative to the standard minivan, or even a Dodge Magnum. (Which I see far more often than the CTS variants) Over the course of its life, it has gone through very minor changes. These changes include mild tweaking of the engine and drive-line and of course, the expected exterior design has been adjusted slightly as well.

Forza 5 vs. Gran Turismo 6: Release Showdown!

Forza Motorsports and Gran Turismo are practically the only two racing franchises that matter anymore, and for good reason. They both have incredibly advanced physics engines and a plethora of ways to upgrade and customize your many different rides. Personally, I started racing games with Gran Turismo 3, and it will always hold a special place in my heart, but I honestly feel like the Forza team has done a better job at making an intuitive, fun game that you can easily spend countless hours on. Check out the trailers and let us know what you think? Are you more excited for Forza, or Gran Turismo? (I must say, the Gran Turismo trailer is far more appealing, IMO)

Now THIS is the BRZ I've Been Waiting For!

The Subaru BRZ is the next generation Mazda Miata for guys. I'm not saying the Miata ISN'T for guys, per se, but the fact of the matter is that we've been yearning for an inexpensive, lightweight, rwd car for far too long. Luckily, it has arrived with a flair, and the aftermarket has answered our calls of, "NOT ENOUGH POWAAA". At Crawford Performance, they have addressed the power deficit by adding none other than, wait for it, a turbocharger! Of course there are other parts that complete the overall package, including freer-breathing exhaust, IC piping, and a comprehensive performance tune. This brings the power up from 200 to a whopping 450! And it triples the torque! Check out Matt Farah's long awaited review and let us know what you think.

Subaru to Invest $400 Million in Domestic Impreza Production!

While this may not be the most exciting news for many of you out there, this means that Subaru is expecting to increase the sales of its Impreza line-up to 500,000 units by the end of the decade. Not only does this mean increased revenue for the Lafayette, Indiana area, but it also means that the potent little Subie platforms will be more readily available because of their increase in numbers, and the following decrease in price.

I Wish I Had This When I Was 5! Or Now For That Matter...

It's not often that I see a product aimed towards the younger sector of the auto industry that makes me green with envy. This, however, is one such jewel. KidsEmbrace is the company responsible for creating these genius car seats, and I am completely blown away that it took so long for this idea to finally grow in popularity and spread like a wildfire.  Personally, I think their selection is "meh", at best, and they would be wise to include the entire DC Comics line-up in future products. And the potential for NASCAR fans to get their favorite drivers emblazoned onto their normally-boring car seat is fantastic! Luckily, they have the option on their homepage under "Browse By Character", to vote for, well, new characters. This is exactly what people like in small, budding companies. Customer participation. It is one of the newest and most fun ways to get involved with your clientele, and I think that KidsEmbrace has hit the nail on the head. Check out their website and vote away for some of your favorite fictional characters! I vote Master Chief!

/DRIVE Season 6: THEY'RE BACK!!!

The /DRIVE Network on Youtube has quickly become one of the most popular series on the web because they cover such a wide variety of different cars and styles of hobbyists. Mike Musto, Matt Farah, and Chris Harris are are just three of the many hosts that participate in the series, and are who made the shows what they are today. Personally, I can't wait to see what happens in the next season and will be anticipating the first episode of BIG MUSCLE and Chris Harris on CARS. WOOHOO! (Not to mention these guys have the coolest jobs on the planet...)

The 1st Ever 2013 Dodge Dart SXT at Wheels and Deals!

We would like to welcome the first ever, 2013 Dodge Dart SXT to Wheels and Deals. If you have been following our blog for the last few months, you may remember a review on the Rallye edition which has a larger 2.0L engine, but not quite as much torque. The car seen here has the 1.4L turbocharged variant of Dodge's new Tigershark engine line-up. That means it has 160HP and 184ft lbs of torque paired with an automatic transmission.

The Dart's interior is where it really shines. Everything inside is well placed for the driver to have easy access while operating the vehicle. The huge 8.4" touchscreen interface is one of the most user friendly applications as a complete unit that I've yet seen. Unfortunately, this one doesn't have the excellent leather seats that I enjoyed so much in the Rallye edition, but the standard cloth seats still have the same comfort and support as their leather counterparts, without the extreme heat build up in summer. I also noticed that there is plenty of cargo space throughout the vehicle. Not only is the trunk big enough for misbehaving children, but there is also a hidden cubby underneath the passenger seat that can hold anything from a chihuahua or an unloaded (of course) pistol, if need be.
You can see more pictures and information here.

Thanks for your continued support! Keep in touch through Facebook for future Wheels and Deals updates or specials!

Bugatti Has the Fastest Convertible in the World? Go Figure.

Not only does the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition hold the title for the fastest convertible on the planet, but it is also recognized as having the longest name in the history of cars. I'm sure having the title of fastest production car on earth being recently stripped from them had nothing to do with any of the feather fluffing involved in naming this beast. The driver of the Bugatti said this on what is was like driving at 254.4 mph with no top,"Even at such high speeds it remained incredibly comfortable and stable. With an open top, you can really experience the sound of the engine and yet even at higher speeds I did not get compromised by the wind at all.”

I was certainly surprised that the driver was so comfortable piloting an open air vehicle at speeds of over 200mph, but I suppose Bugatti has spent millions making sure the aerodynamics were absolutely perfect for the 2.6 million dollar price tag. And did you know that to produce the 1000+ horsepower, the Veyron utilizes a 16 cyl engine, with four turbos, and ten separate radiators?
I suppose what we can take away from Bugatti and their competitors is that faster is better, and compromise is an unknown word to the men who design and build their pride and joy. I say power to them, and keep releasing these soon to be prehistoric beasts on the streets of the world for all to enjoy. That's not too much to ask, is it?

Subaru WRX Concept Has Me Drooling.

I have always been a fan of the WRX platform, but this concept looks like it will be my favorite to date. Not much is known about the driveline, but Subaru promises that the all wheel drive platform will remain, with a new turbo-charged 4-banger under the hood. This is hands down the most aggressively styled WRX to come from Japan, but keep in mind that it is simply a design concept for now, so don't be surprised if the real deal isn't quite as flashy as this particular example. I would bet that the hood scoop will be a little less pronounced, the headlights will be tweaked, and the side-view mirrors will be enlarged by the time the real production date rolls around. Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments below.
