Ahh, the smell of burnt rubber and diesel fumes in the morning. Not many people realize this little fact, but there is a lot of potential in older turbo-diesel cars. Even normally aspirated diesels have huge torque numbers, but just add one turbo and viola, you have a burnout machine. One of the entries in my personal bucket list are to build a turbo-diesel Mercedes wagon that puts modern cars to shame in a straight line. Unfortunately, most of the good ones are in Europe and good turbos are super expensive. So for the time being, these videos will have to do. What looks like is going on is an awesome competition to see who can pull off the best smoke-screen. A simple and straightforward competition, I like it.
