I have this strange infatuation with 4-door sedans and big ol' V8's. They have all the power in the world, plenty of space to haul your favorite people around, and the good ones have incredibly comfortable rides. This particular example is the 2006 CLS500, which is based off of the same model year E500. Roughly two thirds of the parts on this car are interchangeable with it's closely related sibling, and as long as you don't mind the oddly shaped exterior or low visibility from the back seat, you'll find yourself with a far better car overall. It pulls .87 G's on a skid pad, accelerates from 0-60 in 5.5 seconds, and does it all with the grace and dignity of a knight in shining armor. Of course, no car is complete without a decent set of speakers, and this is no exception. The upgraded sound system for this year was done by Harmon Kardon, and it is superb, to say the least.
Every single line, crease, and fold in the metal has been tirelessly thought out and organized to be as pleasing to the eye as possible. They did a damned good job, if I don't say so myself. It pulls off a sporty, aggressive stance while maintaining the austere look of one who makes well over 100k a year. Luckily for those of us who DON'T make that kind of dough, MBZ tends to depreciate in value more-so than most, making the higher-end models easier to attain after only a few short years on the market. At $26,500, you get a LOT of car for the money.
The interior design is fantastic inside the cabin of this beast. Wood grain trim is luxuriously placed throughout in all the right places. Dual power seats and an electronically telescoping wheel gives you the ability to customize the seating position perfectly for whoever mans the helm.
In the rear, I would be one happy camper. The only thing missing is a masseuse and bartender.
