VW MK1 Pushing 740HP and 50PSI of Boost? Okay...

In all honesty, cars that utilize a front-wheel-drive platform are not particularly well loved as performance vehicles. This is mostly because when you throw over 200 horses at one of them, they do nothing but spin the front tires all the way through 3rd gear. However, these industrious Germans have created something that I like to call a "Super Sleeper". Of course there will always be tuned VW's that have been slammed rollin on 18's, but an MK1 Golf that can actually out-accelerate most motorcycles? Almost unheard of. They took a Garrett GT3582R turbo pushing 50psi of boost and threw it at the itty bitty 16v four-banger that you see here. I'm sure they included a long list of other upgrades to the engine including an upgraded fuel system, cams, internals, valves, the list goes on. Obviously you need good rubber to get that power to the ground, so they slapped on some Toyo Proxies, which are some seriously sticky competition tires. Check out the video of their shenanigans and enjoy.
