2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8: A Man's SUV

What we have here is probably the most powerful SUV produced by an American manufacture. That being said, this thing certainly looks and sounds the part. So far, the only upgrade on this particular example is the exhaust. In stock form, it purrs like a kitten at idle, but immediately unleashes a low, guttural roar when prompted. While this approach works just fine for most people, there are those of us that want to be constantly reminded that there are 6.1 liters of raw HEMI power lurking underneath the hood.

"The SRT8’s main feature is a 420-hp, 6.1-liter Hemi V-8. But there’s more: The suspension, the driveline, and the body have been modified to turn this truck into a sports-sedan-like, high-performance machine. It sounds as mean as it looks and provides lots of excitement for the money."
This beast has bigger brakes in the rear than my car has in the front! And for those of you that don't know, that is either completely over the top, or perfectly suited for an SUV of this caliber. You must remember that it weighs nearly twice as much as most little cars, and the suspension and brake components would have to match.
The interior of the SRT-8 is just as lavishly acquainted as the driveline. The seats are made with supple leather and soft alcantara mid-sections. Personally, I believe that any car that has alcantara upholstery is automatically entered into "My favorite cars of the Day" section in my brain. It just seems to add horsepower to anything it's applied to.
Of course, you can't have a bad-ass ride without a sound system to accompany it, and the upgraded stereo offered by Jeep does not disappoint.
This is what you'll be looking at if you decide to race it in your Camaro or Mustang. Quite the unassuming facade, isn't it? If you like what you see, you can check it out at Wheels and Deals in Santa Clara. Thanks for reading and keep in touch through Facebook! Have an excellent day!
