Factory Rally Cars: STI vs. EVO

When people think of rally racing, surely one of the first companies they think of will either be Subaru or Mitsubishi. Both companies have focused primarily on building world class rally cars for the working man, and the fruits of their labor resulted in one of the most intense rivalries the world has ever seen. Of course I'm referring to the Subaru WRX STI, and the stellar Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Both cars have seen vast transformations in their fascias, their drivelines, and most importantly, their power output. One of the reasons they battle so intensely is because they are so eerily similar in design. They are both 4-cylinder turbocharged engines, both are AWD, and both have four doors. So I suppose it only makes sense that there is such fierce competition between the two companies for top dog in the Rally world. Personally, I've always preferred the WRX over its rival, simply because I think it looks better. Unfortunately, the EVO has almost always been a better overall car. Strange the way the world works; you can either have excellent styling with good performance, or unexciting bodywork with fantastic performance. Which do you prefer, the STI or the EVO?
