Tips on Safe Cross Country Driving: Alex Roy

Alex Roy is in the Guinness Book of World Records for driving across the U.S. in 31 hours and 4 minutes. In order to achieve such an incredible time, he had to not only utilize radar detectors, laser jammers, and other expensive equipment no normal human being owns, but most importantly, he had to practice safe driving. We normal people get up in the morning, slam a cup of coffee, and jump in the car to head to work. Most of the time we don't even give our cars two minutes to warm up. The little things are most important when taking a road trip that lasts a couple hours or longer. You should check your tire pressure and tread, make sure you have sufficient fuel, and even check your headlights to ensure you wont get pulled over for one being out. Practicing safe driving will not only keep you safe from other drivers on the road, but from police officers looking to meet their quota as well. This guy pretty much nails it on the head when it comes to driving safely. Skip through to about two minutes for all the important stuff.
